DEAR MYRNA:  

My boyfriend and I broke up for about seven weeks and now we are back together. I am feeling unsure about where this is going and I wonder whether you see anything that might ease my mind. I am a Sagittarius, 35 and my boyfriend is a Pisces, 59. PL  

DEAR PL:  

Unfortunately, Sagittarius and Pisces is not the happiest of combinations. Certainly there are exceptions, but in many other areas beyond the Sun Signs, there is little common ground between you. He is more receptive, somewhat passive while you have a lot of restless energy and are much more active. Over time you are likely to become impatient with him. You are very straightforward. He is much more subtle and often evasive. You can be blunt. He takes offense.  

Your Moon Signs also conflict, and they rule day by day behavior. He seems to be pretty upbeat and open: you come across as more cautious. You have a jealous streak and he can be flirtatious. Add those up and you get feelings of suspicion. Mistrust destroys relationships. By the way, at 59 he is no boy! If his flirting is less than totally innocent, he knows what he’s doing. Did I help quell your unease? I doubt it.  

DEAR MYRNA:

My husband, a Capricorn 36 and I, Gemini 42, have decided to take in my husband's mother. She is a Libra, 67. She has sold her condo and we are looking for a house big enough for all of us. We have two children, ages 4 and 2. My mother-in-law is a difficult person, and I expect that, at times, it will a struggle to have her in our home, but I believe it is the right thing to do. She is still quite active, my children adore her, and although she is a heavy smoker, she wants to spend her last years being of service to us.

She will be moving in with us next month while we continue the search for a house. How long will it take us to find a house suitable for our extended family? Will we all get along once we are in it?   MC  

DEAR MC:  

Your mother-in-law is a Libra, Moon in Leo, Mercury in Scorpio. Translation: sweet, nice, well-liked, crazy making, outgoing, intrusive, smart, and obstinate. That’s truly a difficult combination of traits. But that is true of most of us. Further complicating this picture is the fact that her planets fall in your horoscope in a manner suggestion power struggles. That’s up to you to avoid. More, your husband can be quite impatient. Not much help. Another issue, the way that you mention her smoking indicates that could become a big problem. You need to work out in advance where it fits for her to smoke. In addition, you speak of her living in your home making her less than equal. This has to be her home as much as yours.  

Okay, so what do you do? You find yourself a house with an in-law apartment, or one that can be reconfigured to have that kind of privacy. She needs it as well as you and that will provide the buffer you need to make living together much more successful. Your charts suggest you could have such a property by mid December. You can all get along but it will take effort, forethought and patience.

I am a Libra, 53. I left my husband this past year and that has taken its toll on my finances. I am wondering if things will improve on that front anytime soon. EF  

DEAR EF:  

They really should. Jupiter is in a very positive location in your natal chart, a location signifying career advancement. Next year that planet will be even more propitiously placed. In the meantime, Uranus occupies an area indicating rewards for past good deeds. This is an important time for you to consider your overall career direction. If you want to take on more responsibility, it may feel like a heavy load for the next two years, but benefits will accrue significantly. As a result, your financial circumstances are indeed likely to improve.
